Should We Remember What We Forget? Preserving societal memory while respecting individual privacy rights

In recent years, media outlets have reported that the 21st Century may become a ‘digital dark age.’ Simultaneously, ’the right to be forgotten’ is an important issue that the European courts, libraries, and archives are struggling with managing. This presentation reconciles these issues and discusses digital preservation’s role.
